share your world challenge

Monday, Monday……

Couldn’t help myself. Every Monday I start singing this song, so it is only right ya’ll should have it stuck in YOUR heads as well! Mondays mean Cee’s Share your world challenge and her questions.  Here we go again! Her questions are in a gorgeous color…my answers are just…well…there actually.

What is something that people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?  Soccer. For somewhere around the last twenty years soccer has been spreading throughout the U.S. like a cancerous tumor…there just seems to be no stopping it.  I was forced to play the silly game in high school and hated it then. I haven’t changed my mind in the years since.

What quirky things do people do where you are from? Quirky? Really?  People here are………well………..normal. I am the quirky one…so I suppose the question should be what do I do? Except I really don’t DO much of anything.

Really, the people of Enid are generous, compassionate and caring people. They are what my grandma called the ‘salt of the Earth”. I haven’t a clue how to answer this correctly so I am going to try and ignore it now.

What are some things you wish you could unlearn?  I have been sitting here staring at this question for the last fifteen minutes trying to think of something I would “unlearn”. Nothing. There is absolutely nothing that I would unlearn. Every single experience, every bit of knowledge has made me who I am today. I like myself. I am a good person. I care about others, but not to the detriment of self.  The only thing I can honestly think of that really has not had some significant bearing on my life, in its entirety is…………….Pig Latin. So, I suppose if I absolutely have to choose something to “unlearn”, it would be Pig Latin.

Who is someone that you miss having in your life?  My mother-in-law.  yes, I had a wonderful mother-in-law.  The day George and I became engaged she told me “I always wished George would pick you for his wife. I am so very grateful you will be my daughter”.   Those words came from her heart and I absolutely fell in love with her.  She was loving and never hesitated to show her love. She was a hugger and each time we met for whatever reason she hugged me the instant she saw me, and she always hugged me goodbye when I left.

What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  I am so grateful it rained and I didn’t have to water the garden that day. I am grateful that the new support beam for the new porch doors has been completed and actually looks like someone knew HOW to put it up there!
