share your world challenge

MONDAY! yea, me! Cee’s share your world challenge day! WOOT!

OK, as usual, her questions are pretty while my answers are boring old black…unless I get a wild hair somewhere and decide to mix things up! One never knows what I may do!

What is your favorite cheese? wow…..i like cheddar, asiago, mozzarella, parmesan, Jack, pepper jack, cream, and provolone…….I LOVE Gruyere, Aradalen, and Edom……….but I start salivating thinking about

Kanafeh

Anyone that has been to or lived in the Middle East should immediately know about this lovely cheese…well, it is a cheese in pastry.  Lovingly soaked with a wonderful rose scented syrup……I could eat this stuff all day every day and never get sick of it.

I keep hoping that Ehklas

Ehklas: pictures stolen from her Facebook page! Isn’t she pretty?

over at Cooking from your heart will post the recipe because I have been dreaming about this cheese for over five years now and think it is darned time to have a recipe for it!

Are you left or right handed?  I was left handed until my arm was broken and placed in a cast for nine weeks as a teenager……….the teachers all made me learn to use my right hand then to do my work.  My handwriting still sucks because of it, but I can do almost everything else well enough. I figure after 50 years practice I should be doing well with the right one.

Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?  my mind……and it gets a great workout almost every day.  The old body is breaking down and though I dispise physical exercize with a passion I still do what I can.

It’s a lot easier to do if I can convince myself it isn’t exercize at all and merely doing something fun. Like camping…..or having a yard sale.

There’s a lot of set up and break down, not to mention the walking back and forth between campsite and picnic table….or lake!  and with the yard sales, I help move the furniture and tables for the chachkes so I am getting exercize there too.

Complete this sentence: Hot days are … Hot.  well, heck what am I supposed to say there?  it’s hard to breathe when it is hot. It’s hard to stay comfortable without fans or a/c…it’s also the time when my garden grows as if it is about to take over the planet! I just gave away four zucchini that were over a foot long and six inches in diameter! I never knew they grew that large, but the freezer is full and my neighbors now run away when they see me coming with a basket of veg!

The only thing that isn’t doing well in the heat is my tomato plant. darned thing gave me twenty seven tomatoes then bit the dust!

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? My son called me. My boys are both grown and out of state, and I hear from them maybe every six months…or if they need money! I am looking forward to making salsa from veg grown entirely by ME!!!

  1. Well what do you want from one little tomato plant? Geez, give it a proper burial and a prayer!

  2. Give the tomato plant a break. Maybe those giant zucchini’s took all the nutrients from the soil and the poor tomato plant got nothing. Still, 27 tomatoes sound pretty good to me.
