tame Of all the things I was thinking, this wasn”t one of them!
I’ve always wanted to visit Ecuador. And finding out they have an airline that has been tamed is just icing on my little vacation cake!
I get the vision of an airplane gliding gently through the skies…no bumps, no jostles…after all it is TAME.
I was introduced to Ecuador in the fourth-grade Geography class, and then later on in high school met an actual Ecuadorian. His family had recently transferred to a US airbase nearby and he was attending our school for the semester. I was fascinated by him……well, by his clothes, actually.
He wore a sort of fuzzy poncho over his regular clothes that I absolutely lusted after. It was scarlet with stripes of blue. The only people I knew that wore ponchos were hippies…and he was no hippie.
Yandri was outgoing and smiling constantly. He once asked me on a date, and I hated to turn him down, but I wasn’t allowed to date yet. Turns out he wasn’t either. We ended up meeting at the bowling alley instead with a dozen friends.
Every now and then I wonder whatever happened to Yandri. His family moved back home to Quito during our Junior year and I never heard from him again.
