A father of five was deported yesterday

His only “crime” was being brought to the United States as a child.

He was 10 years old when his aunt brought him to the United States.  He was orphaned and she was his closest relative.  She was living and working here on a “green card”, but had not become a citizen.  She worked two jobs, both as a maid, in order to provide for him.

He attended school graduated and attended a community college where he graduated with honors.  He opened his own landscaping company.

Eventually his business grew and he employed 22 others.

He married his high school sweetheart and they had five children together. They spent nearly 20 years trying to get him a green card.

They paid their taxes, worked hard, raised their children.  He spent over $150,000. on attorneys in an attempt to become “legal”. He did everything right. He tried to become a legal resident. he didn’t look for a loophole or exemption. He honored our system of justice, while our system dragged him from the arms of his children.

He was a community volunteer with Big Brothers and the Boy Scouts. He was active in his church.

NONE of that mattered.

He was deported to Mexico yesterday.  A country he doesn’t remember. A country where he can not even speak to people unless they know English. His aunt made sure he became a “real American” who spoke only English at home, and was not allowed to take Spanish during his school years.

He was two years too old to qualify for DACA status……and while this good man was being deported to a land HE DID NOT KNOW, the Nation was honoring Dr Martin Luther King, Jr.

    1. thank you. This situation is being played out all over the country. They are not deporting “criminals” but good, hardworking family members. And I am convinced it is because they are “brown” and our idiot in chief hates “brown people”

  6. I just saw an interview on CNN with the wife of another man..he too was deported. He too has a job and children. He too was sent to country he doesn’t know or understand. At least he had a family to go to there. It disgusts me to see what immigration under Trump is doing.

  7. Dear Suze,

This heartbreaking video needs to be played over and over again during the 2018 mid-term elections season. The message should be that the Democratic Party stands for kindness to everyone as well as economic prosperity for everyone.

The republicans haven’t a clue what being kind, means.

    Hugs, Gronda
