Blogger Appreciation Award

I was nominated this morning by Non-alcoholic student  and frankly was emotionally blown away by the nomination. I think it was the word “appreciation” that got me…it is a buzz-word to me.  One of those things that make you immediately FEEL something, either positive or negative.

With me, the daughter of a Narcissist, a former abused wife, a former homeless person trying to keep my kids and avoiding all authorities… it means the world.

So, it took a while to regain control to write this post.

The Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their site.
  • Write a paragraph on something positive about yourself.
  • Nominate and notify as many bloggers as you wish.
  • Use the award image.

Thank you so very much young man.  It would be cool right about now to know your name, but since you write anonymously, let me just say “thanks to Non-Alcoholic Student! He is a young man in his first year of University trying to get along with everyone despite his dislike of all the partying. He is funny, sweet, sometimes snarky and argumentative and I honestly adore him! Go check his blog out! WELL, GO ON! I can wait.

So, onwards to the positivity about me.

I am one of those people who truly believes it is better to “give than receive”. I have, sometimes to my detriment, given of my time, my money, my efforts to help others.

I see the value in “things’ only in so far as they assist me to do for others. If you need something and I have it, it will be gladly handed over to you.

I believe that volunteerism is the highest form of showing love. I would rather build a school, a clinic, a home, a well than go on a cruise or any kind of vacation. I would rather spend time teaching someone a craft, a skill..than I would doing something for me. When it comes right down to the nitty-gritty..we are all brothers and sisters and I want my family taken care of.

Okay….that’s quite enough. It is time for me to show some appreciation. If you are not on this list, no worries…it’s because I am getting forgetful in my old age, not because I do not appreciate you or your blog! (and if you are award free? No worries there either.)
