Day tripper

My friend Angie and I are going to Stillwater today.  There’s a fabric sale at a store there we simply have to go to!  I have been quite happily spending time making clothing for the summer, a few scrubs for George and quilts!

Quilting has become an almost obsession for me since I made my first.

I have collected fabrics from yard sales, thrift shops, and the local dollar stores that sell it, and almost have enough for two bedspreads…………so the trip today is to get a coordinating material to finish off those quilts.

And, honestly, to see if there isn’t some material I want to make into something other than a quilt!

It’s a couple of hours away so we are leaving early…hopefully it won’t be all day and night!

Hopefully I will remember to take pictures of the odd or strange or wonderful things we see on the way. Later!

  1. Have fun and find good stuff! I haven’t tried quilting, but my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmothers all quilted and I have examples of their fine work. Quilt on!:)

  2. I am deliberately staying away from fabric stores. At the last count I had enough material to make 5 skirts, 3 dresses and 5 tops. (Don’t tell Dom!)

  3. Travel safe and come back with good stories to tell!! I’m not even worried about that last part, life’s always an adventure with you!! 😛

  4. Oh oh oh oh! And don’t forget the Daily Prompt!! It is “simplify”, I’m sure you can come up with something, to prevent any blackhole incident!! xx

  5. When my sisters and I get together we always go to the fabric store. They both stock up on fun or pretty fabrics and I stock up on yarn for crochet projects. The fabric store is one of our favorite past times.

    1. the only store that sells fabric is about 75 miles away so once a year we go and stock up on the things we need for specific projects. I lucked out today as I had coupons for 1/2 off everything….yea ME!
