anything else……let’s compromise

oh good grief. I saw the prompt “uncompromising” and immediately thought of our elected officials.  I can’t seem to get away from them! Even the daily prompt is shoving me into thinking about them! Lordie, I need a vacation from reality……………

I’d much rather think of fluffy baby animals……….

Or anything else really………, did you know that on this day in 1971, Muhammad Ali fought Joe Frazier for the heavy-weight championship?

Joe Frazier (left) hits Muhammad Ali during the 15th round of their heavyweight title bout — the “Fight of the Century” — at New York’s Madison Square Garden in March 1971.

Or that in 1957, Egypt opened the Suez Canal?

I’d rather think of anything other than politics.

  1. You know, we were in Germany when the Ali/Frazier fight happened. Our neighbors and I got together and stayed up all night to hear it on the radio, and we had pizza. Funny the things we remember. 🙂

  2. Compromise ain’t all it’s cracked up to be….especially in today’s political world. Remember in “fiddler on the roof” when the youngest daughter wanted to marry outside the faith? Tevye could not stretch that far. That’s how I feel. Just can’t stretch far enough to compromise with the idiocy happening around us.

  3. It’s hard to disassociate the word “uncompromising” from the state of politics in America these days.

    1. i know……..but we must in order to preserve the union. that probably means vote all the republicans out until the party dissolves into the ether and can be reborn as something once again human.
