Let it Bleed, April 23, 2018

“It was already too late…”

She knew the instant she bent down to pick up the fallen vase. It was going to be a week or more of agony. She tried to straighten up and felt the first zap of shattering pain from her lower back……….and collapsed onto the floor.

She lay there, tears streaming, moans issuing forth and attempted to pray for help. Any help at all, but none was coming.

How long would she have to lie here before someone, anyone, came to her assistance?

She was the one who had always been there for family and friends..hand out, ready to help.

She felt vaguely ashamed that she was in need now.

After what felt like days, but was probably just minutes, she fell asleep where she lay….and dreamed of better days.

  1. An interesting read! I guess all the “she’s” are just like this one. 🙂
