3 day lyric challenge, day one

Barbara from teleportingweena nominated me for the three day lyric challenge.  I think SHE thinks I may know some songs…could be because I sing so many of em.

Regardless, I accept the challenge and shall attempt to find three songs for three days that actually mean something to me (and maybe you will like them) and nominate three others that have yet to respond to my annoying them with other challenges.

so here we go…day one of the 3 day lyric challenge…………..

One, two, one, two, three Me and all my friends

We’re all misunderstood

They say we stand for nothing and There’s no way we ever could

Now we see everything that’s going wrong With the world and those who lead it

We just feel like we don’t have the means To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change We keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change

It’s hard to beat the system When we’re standing at a distance

So we keep waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change

Now if we had the power To bring our neighbors home from war They would have never missed a Christmas

No more ribbons on their door

And when you trust your television What you get is what you go

t Cause when they own the information, oh They can bend it all they want

That’s why we’re waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change We keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change

It’s not that we don’t care We just know that the fight ain’t fair

So we keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change And we’re still waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change

We keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change

One day our generation Is gonna rule the population

So we keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change

No we keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change

We keep on waiting (waiting) Waiting on the world to change Waiting on the world to change

Waiting on the world to change Waiting on the world to change.

  2. Like the song, thanks for sharing!!… 🙂

“It’s time for greatness — not for greed. It’s a time for idealism — not ideology. It is a time not just for compassionate words, but compassionate action. A lot of people are waiting for Martin Luther King or Mahatma Gandhi to come back — but they are gone. We are it. It is up to us. It is up to you. “ Marian Wright Edleman

  3. Thanks so much, Suze!
I hadn’t heard this song before, but it is a good one. Very relevant to the way things are going these days. The thing is, though, that those youths who are willing and able to make a change, however large or small, maybe shouldn’t be just waiting for someone else to do it, and get involved.
Great pick for the challenge! Thanks again for playing along. 🙂
