SYW with Sparks! Sept 3, 2018

The “new” Share Your World comes from  “Sparks” from A Combustible Mind who is “taking over’ from Cee Neuner.

Rules, they be the same. (YEA!!!)

As always, the questions are a pretty color and my answers, while a boring color might actually be interesting for a change!

When you are old, what do you think children will ask you to tell stories about?   If you are ‘old’ (a term with different meanings for everyone); what stories do you tell your grandchildren?

I’m pretty danged old. I have two step-grandchildren that I haven’t seen in seven years now. I don’t tell them anything as I was a “fake’ grandma (that’s according to the ex-DIL at any rate) and I have no clue where they are.

I have two grandchildren “of the heart” living right next door to me. They mean the world to me regardless of blood. THEY adopted ME as their Gramma Suze and I couldn’t be prouder of that honor.  Braalie is sixteen going on forty and we talk about everything. I don’t tell her stories.  Sam, is six, and usually HE is telling ME the stories. Sam and I talk about religions, politics and school..usually in that order. I’ve posted a LOT of conversations with Sam for everyone to read. He keeps me VERY young!

When did something start out badly for you but in the end, it was great?

My year and a half of being homeless…it ended up well as I found a home and job.  I also in that year and a half learned how to keep my kids safe in incredible circumstances, how to make a home from nothing, and just how resilient I am.

What do you think you are much better at than you actually are?   Maybe this one’s kinda mean…thoughts?

I’m not quite sure what you are asking actually.  I know who I am. I know my foibles, my strengths and my weaknesses. I accept all of them as part of who I am. I am no better, and no worse than any other human. Okay, let me start over..I just reread the question…you want to know what I think I do incredibly well and what actually stinks…..have I got that right?  Nothing!

What would be the worst thing to hear as you are going under anesthesia before surgery?

I already heard it.  “she is flat-lining”

There is always a “what are you happy about sort of question..maybe it is what are you thankful for this week instead. Regardless. it is the same answer as last week. MY HOUSE IS PAID OFF!

  1. What lovely answers!!! I don’t know why I never discovered your blog before (I KNOW I’ve seen you around on Serendipity…I think?) but you have had an amazing life. And kudos on the house!! I just re-financed and that means possibly another five years before it’ll be ‘mine’. Oh well. It sounds as if you did indeed turn something bad (homelessness) into an incredible life! Wow! 😀

  2. Your answers were interesting as usual, i understand the grandkid thing, I have several that I never get to see (kids having kids unmarried) because no one can stay in a relationship very long these days it seems. If I answered the third question I would say I think I sing better than I do, lol! 🤣

  3. I smile every time I read you saying, “My house is paid off!” That is absolutely wonderful, Suze!

I am sorry that you had a time of being homeless. How scary that must have been , especially having children. 😦

How scary that you have flat-lined! I am glad that you recovered.

I think it is wonderful that your neighbor kids have adopted you as Grandma Suze. We think of our neighbor kids as adopted grandbabies. We don’t have any of our own yet and, with our health problems, may not live to see them come to be.

    Have a blessed day. 🙂
