Do You Know?
Answer the following questions and once done, tag three bloggers to do the same!
What’s lucky to find in your Christmas Pudding? a coin
What’s the second line of “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas”? Just like the ones I used to know………………..
In what decade was the first Christmas Card sent in the UK? Ummmm, hello? I’m an American! 1896 (just a wild guess)
Who brings presents to children in Holland on the 5th/6th December? Sinterklaus..I hope I spelled that right.
Who started the custom of Wassailing and what does it mean? The English started it all…..basically it means “good health” although how anyone could remain healthy drinking the highly alcoholic mess called wassail is beyond me. Although, it does sound kind of nice..in a drunkenly sort of way…….it’s mulled ale, curdled cream, roasted apples, eggs, cloves, ginger, nutmeg and sugar………the custom was to either go drink oneself silly with a bunch of friends……OR to go caroling people’s homes in the hopes they’d give you booze.
How many of Rudolph’s eight companions names start with ‘D’? Dasher, Dancer, Donner (or Dunder, depending upon which country one hails from)
At Christmas it’s customary to kiss under what? the mistletoe
What type of tree did the partridge sit in? (rolling eyes at Rory) a pear tree……..duhhhhhhhhh
How many ghosts were there is a Christmas Carol and who were they? four: Ghost of Christmas past, present and future. And Marley! Ha, bet ya thought I’d forget that one!
and Tag 3 huh? Okay…Tag you are it!
as always, if you do not do challenges, it’s fine. Just know I admire you and your blog.
