Rory’s advent calendar, dec 22

Okay, I am trying this again…..Rory and his pimp Imp nearly drove me bonkers, so I am ignoring the Imp for a bit and just mucking about with the advent calendar.

And The Answers Are?

Answer the questions and tag 3 bloggers to do the same.

Which is a famous Christmas Ballet?

The Nutcracker of course it is the nutcracker…silly man

Swan Lake

Sleeping Beauty

Which country first sent Christmas Cards?

France

USA

UK  I am figuring since Rory hails from the UK, they must have been the first to send cards. I mean they still use calling cards, don’t they? We peasants in the US gave that stuff up in the 1800’s………

Pigs in blankets are what?  tiny sausages wrapped in a biscuit (or some sort of breading) and baked.

Between 1647 – 1660 who banned Christmas in England? Probably some idiot. Probably Oliver Cromwell..he annoyed Anne Boleyn enough.

How many candles are there in a traditional Advent Wreath?  let’s see..three purple ones, one pink one and a white one. should be five

In a Wonderful Life, what is the name of George’s guardian angel? Clarence

Bill & Hilary Clinton switched on the Christmas tree lights in Belfast in 1990, 1995 or 1996?  Did the Clintons take over Ireland and fail to tell the US? Do we still own it then, or did they give it back? Pretty sure it was 1995.

What is the birthstone colour of someone born on Christmas day? sapphire maybe? I think it is a sapphire. could be a zircon by now due to inflation though.

Which English actor starred in “the Muppet Christmas carol”?  There’s an English Muppet? cool! you don’t mean the human actor do ya? if so that would be Michael Caine.

What Dr Seuss character steals Christmas?  None of them. The grinch tries to do so but fails miserably when the whos in whoville come out singing anyway…even with no who beast or who gifts or who decorations……

  2. Wonderfully done Suze. You see that’s the beauty of this challenge,if Imp isn’t your Latin, then you can always fall back into the English of the Advent 🙂

Blue of course is the birthstone colour like Blue Topaz 🙂

    10/10 Well done 🙂

Now you just need to crack the Charade for the day 🙂
