more low or no salt season mixes

As I said, I’v e been experimenting.  These are just a few of the winners. You REALLY don’t want to taste any of the not-so-much mixes….

 

You can always increase the amounts of the mixes to have plenty on hand……….this one is for six servings of 1/2 teaspoon each to be mixed with your ground beef and 3/4 cup water.

Taco seasoning mix:

2 teaspoons chili powder

2 teaspoons flour

2 teaspoons cumin

2 teaspoons dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper.

Just blend all ingredients together well and store in an airtight container.

 

Cajun Seasonings:

1 teaspoon paprika

2 1/2 teaspoons dried onion flakes

2 teaspoons minced garlic (dried is best..not the kind in oil)

1 1/2 teaspoons thyme

1 teaspoon marjoram

1/2 teaspoon fennel

1 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

again, mix well and keep in an air-tight container. use 1/2 teaspoon for seasoning. can also use this as a meat rub

 

Greek Seasoning: this is great in stews and egg dishes:

1 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon pepper

1 teaspoon low sodium beef bouillon

1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

 

again, mix well and store in an airtight container.

8 servings of 1 teaspoon each.

I am still experimenting with jerk seasoning and a Jamaican spice rub…….if I ever get them right, I will share.
